Belated End of Soup
So I've been back in philly since around June which kinda makes this particular blog null..Steve Lang in his infinite wisdom advised me to make this ending post at least 2 mos ago. So yes it's done. Santa Barbara was..so awesome in so many ways- 1 mile from beach, art classes, great people, living with Ben or rather learning to and eventually loving living with Ben, cheap(er) sushi, did I mention beach? lots of bike riding in all the time 70* weather..but it also had its downside- 1 mile from beach=$1100/month for a studio we shared, weird rules especially no smoking anywhere, crazy wanker-pants landlord, general boredom (because I need to be so busy that it hurts in order to be content), customer servic-y job complete with creepazoid boss, hills on a single speed, and having everyone think I'm homeless because I'm not wearing crazy fancy shoes..no I don't need a dollar I'm just walking to CVS to buy a soda... Obviously Ben and I have left SB..We drove to Louisiana where he is now gainfully employed at a dive company in an industrial wasteland type town on the bayou so needless to say I am not living there, as much as I would love to be near him. We had quite the adventure...in any case I will immediately start a new blog because I have no free time now and need to find something else to not have time for...Not sure what to call it yet...thanks for reading. I will post new blog asap

Not much going on this week... it was 3 kings day/the epiphany/la fete des rois on wednesday the 6th. I found out that Mexicans, like the French, celebrate by baking a baby jesus into a pastry. However, if you eat a Mexican cake Jesus you have to make tomales for everyone on February 2nd, instead of being crowned king for the day, which is what the French do. I like working with Mexicans- they give me cake and tell me I'm skinny. Also, Ben got a job scrubbing boats in the harbor- the underwater parts of the boats. So I hope he doesn't start doing dip.

It's been forever since I posted- hope I haven't lost my 5 or so followers. I promise I'll blog more, however, that is not a new year's resolution. My new year's resolutions are 1. lose the 5 lbs I gained since thanksgiving 2. swim in the ocean (I'm really really scared of the ocean and haven't gone in it once since moving to Santa Barbara).

01/04/2010 06:12 PM Ms. Hughes came and is very unhappy with her room and wanted to cancel. I told her the 48hr policy and offered to upgrade her. She said her room didn't look very clean (117) so I moved her to 123. She'll probably cancel the 2nd night. akb
01/04/2010 06:22 PM Ms. Hughes came back and said that it wasn't up to her standards and that she was leaving. I told her I still had to charge her for tonight. She said ok and asked how many stars the hotel is. I said maybe 2 or 3, but that I'm not sure. She asked who the manager is so she will probably call hilda. I canceled her second night and charged her for tonight. akb

Ben conveniently went to space camp when he was 11.
Sarah (works at the Shit Hotel too) with Wayne and Garth. These people were nuts- we were kinda sauced walking to some other bar and they did like a 20 minute Wayne's World routine. wildly authentic. 
Die Die My Darling. Awesome.
A guest at the hotel actually thought I worked for NASA. She said WOW what is that like? And I thought, yes, yes, I'm a fucking rocket scientist that also works the front desk of a shit nasty hotel because that makes soo much sense. Then she remembered why she was dressed like a super slutty kitty cat.
These guys were so yuck I just had to take a picture. They had condoms taped to their shirts filled with uncomfortably realistic looking bodily fluids inside.
